We just finished manufacturing an order of custom tire carrier hinge kits for Garvin Industries - Wilderness Racks out of El Cajon, CA. They have been great to work with. We have also prototyped three new designs for them to choose from including two automatc pop pin locking systems to act as a stop for the swing away tire carrier systems.

 

We expect the new tire carrier hinge designs and pop pin plates to go into production within another month. The pop pin plates will be precision laser cut from 1/4" thick steel. The spindles will be manufactured from our standard 1018 due to its ductility while the bearing housing will be from heavy wall DOM tubing.

We are currently redesigning our shop layout to allow for improved process flow and lean manufacturing principles to aid in our manufacturing processes...especially for our high quantity contracts. We will also be purchasing a new HASS Mill with a 8 piece tool changer that wil increase our productivity and capability.

 

With this added capability we will be able to handle higher work loads and contract that require extreme tollerances. We will also begin engraving customers logos on many products!
